If you’re an underwater lover, welcome to paradise!  We have a healthy and vibrant house reef right off shore, as well the spectacular Rainbow Reef to explore and a Manta Ray cleaning station between Kioa and Rabi islands (seasonal May to October).

The unique adventures we offer are not all underwater. You can hike to the stunning Tavaro, Bouma and Lavena waterfalls, be guided into remote villages to see a way of life without first-world conveniences nor concerns, lounge on castaway beaches with a private picnic, reel in a Spanish mackerel on a fishing charter or enjoy a couples massage on the private deck of your villa.

Each of our signature experiences are guided by our team who are often taking you in to their own village or their personal favourite freshwater swimming hole. These are not large tours, but intimate experiences guided by locals who become friends, all curated and run directly by the resort to ensure a seamless, safe and exclusive experience for you.

I am an avid snorkeler and when I had an opportunity to plan our 15 year anniversary trip, I knew proximity to snorkeling was a must. We wasted no time unpacking and I jumped into the house reef right off the jetty and was amazed by all of the pristine coral and fish. Throughout the week we enjoyed multiple snorkel excursions (best snorkeling I ever did), the village visit, and beautiful candlelit dinners every day. My wife and I felt so relaxed only 2 days into our vacation! Living a hectic life in the US, we really appreciated our time together and were able to reconnect in the most romantic way possible. I also surprised my wife with a renewal of vows ceremony that was beautifully conducted by the resort manager, Vilisi. I have never been so moved as I was at the Remote and I already look forward to returning...

"You could not get more remote than this and still experience the luxury and pampering of this fabulous resort. I celebrated my birthday there with a surprise massage on the hidden beach (fabulous massage therapist!), followed by a picnic lunch including a cake and live music. That evening I was surprised again on a hike up to a viewpoint to be greeted with hors devours and cocktails, again accompanied by a guitar and singing. The chef is fantastic. "This hotel and island is a very special experience. Not just a hotel, but a week of feeling like you were on your own island and in your own villa. Hope that this doesn't change over time when more people discover this place! We spent days snorkelling, fishing with the owner, diving, and lying on private beaches. Also you have your own spot for having your dinner and lunches, beautifully set up. I would say the privacy is how it differs from other places. Rooms are simple elegance, and more of a rustic style. No A/C, but the natural winds and sounds of the ocean were perfect for us.

The make up of Taveuni and surrounding may not be as white sandy beach-y as some other places we have been to e.g. Maldives, but the difference is a much more diverse island with beautiful snorkelling just off the shore, and vegetation and mangroves and waterfalls as well"

"My husband and I had an amazing 6 days at The Remote Resort. We had an elopement + honeymoon here in September.

Overall, I can't even begin to describe what an incredible experience we had here. There was not a single detail overlooked. Service was impeccable (and incredibly friendly). The staff went above and beyond and they ran as a team like a well oiled machine--easily the best and most personable service I've experienced from any resort I've stayed at. Food was delicious (one of the reasons I chose this resort based on reviews). The ambiance, design, look and feel of the resort as a whole was absolutely perfect (the pictures on their website speak the truth). I honestly could not have asked for more. Snorkeling off the jetty was great--snorkeling off of their "hidden beach" was even better. Lots of coral and sea life to be found! Their excursions (both paid and free) were all well worth it and great fun. We went on two dives, snorkeling at Black Magic, kayaking on the back bay, day at hidden beach, local village visit, coconut show and manta ray snorkel. Our elopement was also absolutely magical and coordinated stress free with lots of little surprises thrown in for us by the staff. "The amazing food, the friendly staff, the fantastic activities you get in the all-inclusive package (especially snorkeling with manta rays), the cool little plunge pool on the deck where you can watch the sunset, the private beaches, the picnics, the massages on the beach as part of the unlimited massage package - everything was fantastic. 

This is up there as one of my absolute favourite holidays of all time. I have been to Fiji a few times before, but the stay at the Remote Resort definitely blows everything else I've seen in Fiji out of the water.
