The Remote Elopement Package
Our reservations coordinator to work with you in advance on all of the details via email and our Resort Manager to meet with you at the resort before your wedding day to finalize all details.
Liaison with the Fiji Government for your wedding license (see documents required below) and visit to the District office in Taveuni or Savusavu on your day of arrival for lodging and signing the required wedding license application. You must arrive into Taveuni or Savusavu on a weekday before 2.30pm to visit the District Office.
Seasonal, tropical flowers including bouquet, buttonhole and decorations for your chosen ceremony location.
A selection of ceremony locations at the resort including the beach, the beachside firepit deck, garden, jetty or Main Pavilion deck.
A Remote team member available to assist the bride with her wedding dress and / or to take photos or video with your phone/camera, before, during and after the ceremony.
Two Fijian Warrior escorts for the bride to the ceremony and two Fijian witnesses.
A Celebrant to perform the wedding ceremony (you are also welcome to add your own vows).
Fijian serenaders (guitars and singing) and/or iPod/speaker set up to play your chosen music.

Documents required for Fiji wedding license
A Fiji marriage is legally accepted worldwide.
The following documents are required to apply for a wedding license in Fiji prior to your marriage ceremony.
If your documents are not in English, you will need to provide translated versions of the documents.
We require a scanned copy of all of the below documents 1 month prior to your wedding date in order to review them with the District Office in advance of your arrival.
You will need to bring the originals of all of the documents with you.
Documents required to obtain a license to marry in Fiji:
Bio page of Passports (passports must have at least 6 months validity following your arrival date in Fiji)
Birth Certificates
COVID-19 Vaccination records
1 passport sized photo (each) of the bride and groom
Government Certificate of Single Status or Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage, dated no more than two months prior to the wedding date. This is available in Australia and is therefore required from Australian residents.
If your country does not provide the above, you must provide the following TWO documents:
A Statutory Declaration made by each person stating that they are not married and witnessed by Justice of the Peace or Notary Public dated no more than two months prior to the wedding date. An example of Single Status Statutory Declaration; AND
A letter from your Local County or Government on letterhead confirming that a Certificate of Single Status or Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage is not available.
Fiji Marriage Licence Application with your signatures witnessed by a JP on the side of the form beside the space for the Registrar General or District Register to sign. An example of the Marriage License Application form completed
21 Day Waiver Letter request - required by the Fiji Government for all weddings for which the bride and groom will not be able to sign for their wedding license more than 21 days before their wedding date
Divorce decree (if previously married). Death certificate (if spouse died)
For persons under the age of 21, parental consent is required
Please email us copies of these documents at least 1 month prior to your arrival and we will meet with the District Office to review your documents to confirm that all is in order.
You are required to have your signatures witnessed at a District Office in Taveuni or Savusavu prior to your wedding license being issued so please plan your arrival and wedding date accordingly as the District office is not open on weekends and closes at 4pm on weekdays so you need to arrive at the airport in Taveuni or Savusavu before 2.30pm on a weekday.
Fiji Wedding Photographers, Videographers & Hair/Makeup
Fiji has many wonderful wedding photographers and videographers. We can assist you to arrange one of them to travel to The Remote Resort to capture your day.
Please note as many of the photographers are based in Nadi, in addition to their photography fee you will need to cover their airfares, meals, car and boat transfers and accommodation. When you ask them for a quote for your wedding at The Remote Resort, please ensure they quote you an all-inclusive price including their accommodation, meals, airfares, car and boat transfers, etc. Alternatively, please contact us separately for a quote for their accommodation, meals and car and boat transfers to/from the resort. If they will not be staying overnight, the cost of car and boat transfers and lunch including non-alcoholic beverages is FJD$390 return. We can offer boat transfers departing up to 5pm (November to March) and up to 4pm (April to October) as our boats can only cross the reefs in daylight hours.
If you're simply looking for candid shots of the two of you, we can offer one of our team members to take photo/video for you using your camera or phone.

Wedding Locations
Most weddings are held at the resort between 3pm and 5pm on your wedding day, although we can accommodate your preferred time. Please take a look at the tide times for Suva, Fiji if you are planning a beach location and would like either a low-tide or high-tide style. As the sun sets behind our peninsula, there is not direct sun on the main beach in the late afternoon, making it a really pleasant setting for your afternoon nuptials. We offer wedding ceremonies anywhere on the resort, including the pier/jetty, beach, beachside deck, garden and main pavilion. We recommend couples wait till they arrive to choose their exact location. In the case of rain we can be flexible and change your preferred date with 24 hours notice (note that your photographer may not be so flexible) or set up the wedding ceremony location on the covered deck of the Main Pavilion.
Wedding Music
If you would like your favorite song playing as you walk down the aisle, sign your papers or after your ceremony, we recommend that you load them onto an iPod/iPhone, etc and bring them to the Resort. We will provide a portable player for you, or you may like to bring your own portable speakers to ensure you know the quality of sound available. Should you choose a location close to the Main Pavilion, we will be able to plug your device in to the main sound system. Alternatively you may prefer our Fijian serenaders to play the guitar and sing Fijian songs for you, or perhaps a combination of the two.
Wedding Flowers
Our wedding package includes both a bridal bouquet as well as floral decorations for your chosen wedding location and buttonhole for the groom. Fiji has many varieties of tropical flowers. We generally make your bouquet using a collection locally-sourced tropical flowers such as gingers (red or pink), frangipanis (white, yellow+white or pink), hibiscus (red, white or pink) and green ferns, depending on what is in season. If you have a preference for a particular variety of flower(s) for your bouquet, please let us know based on the images below and we'll let you know if they'll be in season.
